Thembalethu Manqunyana is a explores the complexities of South African life. Hailing from the bustling streets of Kwazakhele, Gqeberha his artistic journey began at a young age. He nurtured his talent through formal education, earning qualifications in Art and Design at Port Elizabeth College, followed by Fine Art studies at Nelson Mandela University and Rhodes University.
Drawing inspiration from his Xhosa heritage and a diverse colour palette, Thembalethu transcends ethnic boundaries. It provokes a sense of shared experiences and a unified identity.
Currently living in Sea Point, Cape Town, he continues to create and show his work nationally and internationally. Under AITY Gallery’s representation, he has achieved significant success, including a sold-out solo exhibition, many group shows, and participation in two international art fairs.
