A Touch Study - Exhibition

This body of work is titled A Touch Study and consists of 16 paintings. Each one is individually framed, measuring 380 x 505mm.

“Through the abstract forms within this collection, I challenge viewers to interpret freely, engaging with each piece as an evocative visual language that explores human perception, and the expressive potential of paint applied directly with one’s fingers”

The work is fresh, distinctively different, compels the emotions and aesthetically lovely.The sophisticated use of colour contrasts with a childlike freedom in the mark-making, creating a compelling tension between innocence and depth is refreshing signal of a young artist, whose talent is already undeniable.
Biography
About the Artist

After studying fine art at the University of Stellenbosch, Nicole settled in Cape Town to become a multi-disciplinary conceptual artist. She developed a unique style by creating acrylic finger-painted works on black paper and canvas. Her practice engages directly with material through custom-mixed pigments applied by hand, using only her fingers and a cotton towel. This tactile approach underscores her commitment to physical engagement with surface and form, situating gesture and materiality as central to her artistic language.
